Pine Hill Ranch Angora Goats

Subtitle

Start to Finish - a photo journey.....

Toby and Keith trying to snooze at the local fair.  Toby, on the left, is a Red Angora, while Keith, on the right has the traditional white fleece.  They are 2 months old in this photo.

Oreo is relaxing in the warm autumn sun about a month after shearing.  Oreo, a badger face angora, was a yearling (not quite 2 years old) when this picture was taken.

May is our fat and fluffy Romeldale-CVM-mix sheep.  Mohair, from the Angora goats, is a wonderfully light, strong fiber with luster, but it needs to be blended with another fiber to retain it's 'memory'.  Otherwise, the beautiful mohair sweater you just spent weeks working on will  stretch and become a dress before the day is done.  We choose to blend our mohair with wool, and May is happy to supply a good portion of that wool.

The next photos show the progression of shearing to the finished project.  We hope you enjoy them!   (photos coming soon)
